Proof & Wood's Good Day 22 Year Old Blended Canadian Whiskey exemplifies the intricate craft of Canadian whisky production. This expression builds upon its acclaimed 21-year predecessor, adhering to the precise Canadian regulations that require distillation and aging of cereal grains like corn, rye, and wheat in barrels of 700 liters or less, all within Canada. The blend, aged an additional year and finished in former American Rye barrels, maintains its robust 52% ABV (104°). Presented in the same striking 700ml bottle, this latest release promises enhanced depth and complexity. With its nuanced flavors and adherence to traditional standards, this whisky invites enthusiasts to experience its refined evolution.

Tasting Notes
• Appearance: I poured the whiskey into my Glencairn glass, and as I sipped it neat, the liquid gold formed a medium-thick rim and released wide, slow tears, indicating its richness.•

• Nose: The first impression was a surprising burst of butterscotch, a note not present in the 21-year version. It was followed by aromas of Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, and marshmallows. On further inhalation, the marshmallows and apples were most prominent, particularly when I breathed through my mouth.

• Palate:** The texture of Good Day’s whiskey was reminiscent of maple syrup, coating every corner of my mouth. The initial taste featured rock candy, vanilla, and corn. As the experience evolved, the middle palate revealed caramel, rye spice, and cinnamon, while the finish showcased clove, dry oak, and baked apples.

• Finish: The finish was long and lingering, predominantly featuring clove, but also showcasing lingering hints of cinnamon, baked apples, corn, rock candy, and rye spice.
