The Macallan Debuts Latest Harmony Collection Whisky in Collaboration with Cirque du Soleil.
The fourth release in the Harmony Collection has been created in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil to tell our oak story in an imaginative, visual and innovative way.

The whisky, created by The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team, is matured in a combination of first fill sherry seasoned American oak casks and refill sherry casks. These have been carefully selected to deliver the classic American oak flavours of vanilla, citrus and sweet oak, naturally derived from the cask during maturation, with a medium, sweet finish that delicately lingers.

For this release that celebrates our 200 Year Anniversary, we focus on our own area of expertise and mastery which is represented by oak. Oak runs through every facet of The Macallan and our exceptional sherry seasoned oak casks are the single greatest contributor to the outstanding quality, distinctive aromas and flavours of our whisky.

The Macallan continuously draws inspiration from nature. The Harmony Collection, Vibrant Oak is a reminder of the importance of both the connection with our natural environment and of preserving it.

This latest Harmony release reflects the influence of sherry seasoned oak casks to our whisky mastery. Over time, our new make spirit matures in the cask to create a liquid that is reflective of our deep connection with nature, drawing both natural colour and flavour from its interaction with the oak wood.

The Experience
• Colour: Autumnal leaf.
• Nose: Intense vanilla bean accompanied by sweet sherbet and lime zest gives way to fragrant pears nestled in delicate vanilla sponge cake.
• Palate: Creamy vanilla panna cotta, buttery shortbread, lightly toasted coconut with almond brittle, apple and sweet oak.
• Finish: Medium, sweet with lingering vanilla.

The name Vibrant Oak and the gold colour evoke a sense of energy and liveliness. From the Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT Experience, two key characters will each bring to life the oak story.

The beautiful illustration features a human figure – Ayla - intricately intertwined within the branches of an American oak tree. This design emphasises the importance of the connection between the natural world and human experience. It conveys the life and wonder that bloom when humans are “In Harmony with nature.”

The design also incorporates peacock feathers which symbolises The Macallan's natural colour and our peacock character, brought to life through the story of Spirit. The human representation links to Cirque du Soleil human performance and potential.

About The Macallan
The Macallan was one of the first distillers in Scotland to be legally licensed. Since then we have built a reputation as one of the world’s leading single malt whiskies. The creation of The Macallan draws on the vital contributing influences of Spain, North America and Scotland - and of their respective natural raw materials, combined with traditional methods and craftsmanship.

The Macallan distillery was founded by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and school teacher. The original name of the area was “Maghellan”, taken from the Gaelic word “magh”, meaning fertile ground and “Ellan”, from the Monk St.Fillan - who held a close association with the church that stood in the grounds of The Macallan Estate until 1400.
